Geospatial analytics includes statistics and other methods used to characterize patterns, predict values, or interpret relationships associated with spatial or spatiotemporal phenomena. The analytics necessarily incorporate the spatial (and in some cases temporal) coordinates of the data and may also use many other measured characteristics and attributes. For example, values of air temperatures or soil characteristics are sampled in some locations and then mathematically interpolated through geostatistics to derive values for locations where samples were not taken.
